[Meydan has been established for everyone! ]

We, as YADA, have developed Meydan (Square) in order to create a ground for dialogue and negotiation by creating common sharing and working spaces in order to overcome the introversion of civil society, which we have identified as a result of research and observations we have made for many years. With the Meydan meetings we have developed as a civil society in Turkey to overcome this isolation problem, which is a reflection of polarization; we strive to create a democratic negotiation environment that will enable civil society in Türkiye to confront its contribution to polarization, where they can talk without claiming more rights than the other and without trying to emulate the other.

Meydan is a common ground for civil society where through deepening within the boundaries of the issues the civil society deals with, the civil society can break the polarization effect caused by the politics that transforms the diversity of ethnic, religious and cultural identities into power based shallow competition.

Meydan exists to build a civil society world that is reputable on decisions generated by the public administration, politics and the private sector as well as on the opinions of the citizens.

Meydan exists to build a democratic negotiation environment which will ensure the confrontation of civil society with its contributions to the polarization and the civil society can talk without claiming more rights than the others and trying not to assimilate the others which have different backgrounds and identities.

Meydan exists to reveal the possibilities for Turkey’s civil society which can cooperate with others that are not like each other and to implement a new dialogue, negotiation and cooperation model.

Meydan exists for CSOs that can share their abilities of owning the societal and environmental problems, exploring, describing, and bringing up these problems to the agenda as well as producing knowledge and solutions.

Meydan is a common ground of discussion for civil society where people with different identities and issues have a common ground to establish a negotiation area instead of a debate.

As CSOs, Meydan exists to explore Turkey's issues, bring them to the agenda, talk about options for solutions, listen, tell what they know, understand and accumulate what they have learned. Meydan exists to enable those who have no words to discover their words, and to enable those who do have to say it.

Meydan has been established for everyone. There is room for everyone at Meydan!
